Photographer's Note

This is a second photo of a roe deer in the area along the Fyris River south of Uppsala. This one is however, on the other side of the river. The antlers of this buck are quite different from the antlers of the buck in my previous post. Only bucks have antlers. There a four different type of antlers with one, two or three and rarely four points. This buck has three points even though it is difficult to see it in this photo. The antlers are shed in November every year and the begin to regrow already in January
The coat is also different in the two photos. In summer the coat is foxy red and in winter it becomes grayish brown.
