Photographer's Note

This is a common carder bee (Bombus pascuorum), is a species of bumblebee. In Sweden there are 39 species of bumblebees. The common carder bee is one of the most common bumblebees in Sweden and it occurs all over the country. This bumblebee is common throughout Europe.
The common carder bee is orange-brown in colour and appears in forests, parks, meadows and the gardens. The nest is usually set up above ground, in grass tussocks, and heap of leaves and the like
The flower the bumblebee has settled down on is a wildflower called Forget-get-me not (Myosotis scorpioides) In Swedish it is called Förgätmigej which means Forget-get-me not. In Sweden Forget-get-me not has traditionally been regarded as a love or friendship memory flower. It occurs throughout Sweden but is most common in the south and thrives in damp soils, as lake shores and swamp forest. Forget-get-me is native to Europe and Asia but could also be found in North America as an introduced species.
