Photographer's Note

A section of a wall of Sofia skola, an elementary school in the Södermalm district of Stockholm. It was the last of a number of "elementary school palaces" built in Stockholm from the 1880's and Sofia skola was inaugurated in 1910. The architecture shows a clear influence from "art nouveau".
"Folkskola" literally means "people's school". This was the name of the school system decided by the Parliament in 1842, when every parish in the country was ordered to provide basic education for all children.
I have erazed a wire from the right part of the picture and its shadow down the wall. Normally I don't like to change reality, but in this case I was disturbed by the interference in the architect's ideas.
