Photographer's Note

Another photo without people! What's happening?

The fact is there were no children in this playground last Saturday afternoon when I came walking by, and I was in any case mainly interested in the light and colours – and the view of Stockholm's Old Town.

If there had been any children here I could probably not have taken this photo, because it was impossible to be discreet. I was standing outside a red wooden fence, like the one you can see, and had to put my hands between the boards. The gaps were just wide enough for my hands – one on each side of a board, and I just managed to squeeze the camera through the gap.

This was taken on one of the hills on Södermalm island where you get the best views of central Stockholm and the Old Town. Behind the trees and bushes is a narrow pedestrian road called Monteliusvägen (Montelius Road), created in 1998.

Here is a larger version.

A view of Monteliusvägen can be seen in one workshop, another additional photo shows a sample of what you can see from this hill.
