Photographer's Note

In another era, not long ago, this region of Sweden was full of small mines in small villages and in other small villages they made iron from the ore in small iron works. That was in another time, not so long ago.

Today those little villages struggle to stay alive as the young ones move to the cities to find jobs. Left in the little villages in the big forests are the old ones and the few needed to take care of them.

The picture shows one of the elevator towers at the mine in Idkerberget. It has been closed for some 30 years now but as you see large investments were made not so long ago.

This is just the lower part of the tower. For some reason it was painted red, usually they are just bare concrete.

Does anyone dare to say rules of thirds?
