Photographer's Note

A bit more of the special mining town architecture. This is part of a house built in the block I showed you yesterday. The blocks where cast in slag, the melted material that is rejected in the metal making.

This house stands on the backside of the big mine in Falun which is one of Swedens top ranking sights. The building was once one of the industrial buildings that was used for the mine operation. Now this building and a few others around it are used by a group of artists.

I liked the contrast between spring green and blood red in this. The text has something to do with the artists and their work so it is a sign, not graphiti. The Swedish word "Zonerna" means "The zones".

Yesterday evening I read Luminous landscapes tutorial on sharpening with USM in Lab color mode on the Lightness channel only and used it here. I think it is an improvement as I have before only used the Sharpen filter and the fade function together with local sharpening with the tool. (How is this for mumbo-jumbo?)
