Photographer's Note

Hi friends and colleagues, today I offer another photo of the visit to Cadiz of the regatta of great sailboats, today I present the "Mir". I hope you like it, next a few letters about its history. In the Ws other views.

Its name means "Peace", built in Gdansk (Poland), and reminiscent of sailing vessels carrying grain in the 1930s. It is twin brother of the "Dar Mlodziezy" and the "Khersones", built by Zygmunt Choren. During the summer it crosses the North Sea and the Baltic, in search of waters located more to the south. It carries on board civilian students who are in their first or second year of studies, later pass to other ships. Its modern design makes it a very fast sailboat, being able to reach speeds above 15 knots. It is able to vary its rigging to wrap up to 35 degrees. Its ballast is 500 tons.
