Photographer's Note

The Madrasa Palace in Granada was the seat of the Muslim School of Koranic Law founded by Yusuf I. After the taking of the city to Muslims, the building was transformed into city hall and meeting place for riders who ruled the city. Its interior is richly decorated, a horseshoe arch gives access to the elegant mihrab, the only Islamic building space that remains. Currently the palace of the Madrasa is home to various departments of the University of Granada.
