Photographer's Note
The one thing Mallorca has in abundance is geologic history, and this history has left a legacy ranging from barren rocky outcrops to incredibly fertile soils. Running throughout the heart of the country, from the Serra de Tramuntana in the west to the flat plains of the east, is red dirt land. Produced through the weathering and dissolution of limestone rock, the finer insoluble clay particles and minerals are left behind, and any ferrous deposits oxidise. This oxidation leaves behind the characteristic colour we see when metals rust, and is reflected in the wonderful dark red terra nova soils we have here.
For anyone more interested about the geology of Mallorca, I found this excellent document online: http://www.shnb.org/monografies/monografia18/Mon_Soc_Hist_Nat_Balears_18_2012.pdf
Enjoy!

Ciao Casper
bel paesaggio, mi piacciono i vari livelli di colore e mi piace questa luce diffusa molto calda.
Interessante l'ombra della nuvola che modella la montagna.
Buon domenica

Hi Casper,
Terrain has indeed quite special colour, and that is emphasized by warm toned sunshine. Those mountains make a good background to this bare field.
