Ribadesella - A beautiful summer day in Asturias

Why this title ? Well, for many, Spain is known as the land where the sun shines almost always. Of course, this does not correspond to the reality and the climate along the Sea of Cantabria is very different from the one in the rest of Spain. But since it was July and thus summer, I was convinced that it would be nice.

Eventually we had very little rain in España Verde, but unfortunately a lot of very dark days with a gray or a black sky. So on this picture you see a typical summer day in Asturias, at least during our holiday there in July.

Ribadesella is a small municipality on the Cantabrian Sea in the Autonomous Community of the Principality of Asturias.

The upscale houses you see along the beach were built by the Indianos.
Indianos are Asturians who migrated to Latin America in the twentieth century, became wealthy there, returned later to Asturias and built these beautiful big houses along the coast.

Maybe a little weird to find such residential homes along a beach but in every way more attractive than some of the high-rise buildings of concrete and glass like in some seaside resorts on the Spanish Mediterranean coast.

In the workshop another picture of these houses.
