Photographer's Note

Puerta del Sol is a square of Madrid. Here was one of the access to the city in the 15th century.
In those years the city was surrounded by walls and to enter or exit had some major points of access for pedestrians and carriages called Puertas, and for pedestrians only had several minor access called Portillos.
The Puerta del Sol or Door of the Sun, which no longer exists, was in the place that today occupies this square, and owes its name to a sun adorning the ancient entrance.
