Elciego (in Euskera Eltziego or Zieko1 and officially Elciego) is a municipality in the province of Álava, Basque Country (Spain).

The socioeconomic system of Elciego revolves around the world of wine, whether in viticulture, in the elaboration or in the emerging tourism that was born linked to wine. In Elciego vine growers, small wineries of harvesters, family wineries with incipient dedication to aging, medium and large wineries coexist, offering all this set a wide range of styles ranging from the spoiled wines of the year or harvesters to the so famous wines of today high expression

Of great tourist and economic relevance for the town, in relation to the culture of wine, is the construction in the town of the singular Hotel Marqués de Riscal, annex to the wineries of the same name, work of the Canadian architect Frank Gehry.
