Photographer's Note

What we see here is the cross of "Gran Via" with "Alcalá street" in the very center of my beloved city; Madrid.

This is a dark cloudy day in the city, quite depressing for most of us who are used to enjoy sunny days most of our time. The traffic is normally a total chaos (eventhoght Madrid's underground network is huge and extensive, even larger than Paris') but I had to be pacient until I got the streets some clear of cars, taxis and trucks.

Nevertheless I do love the intense activity of the center of Madrid, specially in this crossroad. This is the beginning of "Gran Via" (the equivalent of Oxford street in London), which was built during the first half of the 20th century. The nicest modernist buildings of Madrid are here and the street is plenty of cinemas, theaters, night clubs and fashionable shops.
