Photographer's Note

Plaza de la Providencia is a smallish square in Old Madrid. Lined with cafés and souvenir shops it gives access on to the much larger square of Plaza Mayor, via one of the latter's nine monumental archways. This time seen from behind the fountain.

Hi Stephen,

The distance between the statue and the end of the street is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the fountain and of the buildings. A good management of the back light which does not hurt the output of the colours. Have a nice dya.

Hello Stephen,
A great impression from the streets of Madrid again with a very nice and bright sunlight. The fountain is well placed in the centre and I also like the inclusion of the tower at right.

Hello Stephen, the person dressed in red attracts the eyes and draws us into the picture. The light is well managed as you stand in the shade looking across to the street bathed in sunshine.
It is a good place from which to take the shot as you have included so much detail.

Getting up early is always good for the light especially with places that attract many tourists. The water fountain-statue grabs for attention with other attractive old buildings nicely aligned for equal prominence, and that guy in red at the thirds, is a vital hooking point. Lovely overall, great colour and well handled exposure. Excellent capture.
