About the place:
Opening: 1887
Surface: Approximately 750 m²
Crystal Palace at Retiro Park in Madrid is a metal and glass structure. It was raised in 1887 for the Exposition of the Philippine Islands, held that year. Its structure is metal, and is fully covered by glass plates, hence its name. It was built by Ricardo Velázquez Bosco, and construction project was inspired by the Crystal Palace, Paxton. The ceramic used in small decorative friezes and auctions is the work of Daniel Zuloaga, it highlights the grotesque figures with the heads of ánades.1 The great impression that must have caused the palace reflected in this description, which appeared in The Globe in 1887.
Crystal Palace is like a cathedral of glass, of classic proportions, on a hill of grass. Its walls and walls are huge and transparent glass supported by Ionic columns of iron, arranged in three buildings on a clover-shaped trace and topped by a huge dome reaches a height of 22.60 meters, covering a grand basin intended for aquatic plants. Around and in the aisles of 14.61 lift, have to shelter the high grasses and palms flexible characteristics of the tropical flora of the Philippines. Its majestic home, taste and classic Greek style, it falls on a terrace surrounded by elegant balustrade, and watch the lake, which extends to his feet as a mirror have to look the slender trunks, fronds and painted green corolla Palace awaits.

Manuel

Gracias amigo!
Un abrazo,
Juan
