Photographer's Note

This is a view over the old town of Corbera d'Ebre which is located on the top of a hill. It's one of the towns which were concerned by the battle. The weapons and the time elapsed have left these ruins. In the Spanish civil war (1936-39), the battle of the river Ebro took 115 days, and the positions were alternatively taken by each army. More than 20.000 casualties from both armies. It was maybe the toughest battle. The new town is on the hillside.
