A beautiful place to marry, a photo from Barcelona, Catalonia

Photographer's Note

Today I begin a small series on the building of the Town hall of Barcelona, where I could take a few photos during a wedding ceremony. I seized this opportunity because it is not easy to visit these noble zones of the building, except in solemn acts or in ceremonies of civil weddings as in this case. This first photo is taken inside the Saló de Cent, and it is possible to see its structure formed by arches of diaphragm of half a point and wood beams (XIVth Century) that in 1888 lost its original paintings. The last two sections and the furniture are of 1860 and 1914 respectively.

My setting was centred on this structure, to avoid catching the guests who were filling this magnificent place.

In the WS it is possible to see a scene of the just married couple accompanied by the councilman Xavier Trías, chief of the opposition in the Town hall, which was the one who celebrated the civil ceremony. Also it is possible to see an aspect of this Saló de Cent, with its splendid lamp and its furniture.

Hoy empiezo una pequeña serie sobre el edificio del Ayuntamiento de Barcelona, donde pude tomar unas fotos durante una ceremonia de boda. Aproveché esta ocasión porque no es fácil visitar estas zonas nobles del edificio, excepto en actos solemnes o en ceremonias de bodas civiles como en este caso.
Esta primera foto está tomada en el interior del Saló de Cent, y se puede ver su estructura formada por arcos de diafragma de medio punto y envigado de madera (s.XIV) que en 1888 perdió sus pinturas originales. Los dos últimos tramos y el mobiliario son de 1860 y 1914 respectivamente.

Mi encuadre se centró en esta estructura, para evitar captar a los invitados que llenaban este magnífico lugar.

En el WS se puede ver una escena de los novios acompañados por el concejal Xavier Trías, jefe de la oposición en el Ayuntamiento, que fue quien ofició la ceremonia civil. También se puede ver un aspecto de este Saló de Cent, con su espléndidas lámparas y su mobiliario.

Buenos tardes. Soft lights created incomparable illuminations on rich arches and ceiling. Texture of brick wall and repeating lights creating magnificent ambiance there. C'est très bien géré, malgré la lumière, et ce cadrage serré est ok pour fixer l'attention sur cette très belle ambiance nocturne, bien chaude, bien moyen-ageuse... Très sympa.

Very well framed symmetrical detail of the state chambers in the Town Hall. Both the double arches and the candelabras lead the eye into the frame. Good idea to take advantage of a rare opportunity. Well done

Gracias que los invitaron a la boda ya que así podremos disfrutar de un sitio poco frecuentado a menos que sea en caso solemnes.
Tu foto presenta un lugar del edificio que es una verdadera joya arquitectónica, las preciosas lamparas con sus luces muy bien captadas hacen una sobria composición junto al escudo localizado en la pared. Tu punto de vista es muy bueno y la iluminación quedo estupenda. Muy buena fotografía.

no conec el lloc i m'ha sorprés moltíssim, és magnífic. La perspectiva arquitectònica on podem apreciar els detalls és molt interessant i la perfecta simetria dels elements arquitectònics consolida l'imatge.
Excel.lent control de la " poquíssima " llum que hi devia d'haver i una atmòsfera ben càlida i acollidora, ideal per l'ocasió ;-)

Très belle vue de cet intérieur huppé, j'aime les tons chauds de cette image mais je me demande s'il aurait pas été encore mieux de cadrer plus haut de manière à faire apparaitre la totalité de l'arche supérieure et du lampadaire. Dans tous les cas c'est très beau.

c'est un très belle intérieur, que vous montrer la. les lustres sont magnifiques, on vois bien les détailles malgrés qui sont allumé. la lumière n'est pas trop foncée ni trops forte vraiment une belle gestion. un seul petit regret la coupure de la voute et du lustre central mais je suis sur que c'est parceque vous ne saviez pas faire autrement et saurait été dommage de ne pas montrer quand même votre belle photo.

Si, te doy la razón. Un bonito lugar, muy solemne y agradable para contraer nupcias.

Me gusta la forma como has dominado la luz artificial de las lamparas, con una gran definición y un adecuado tiempo de exposición.

La ubicación de dichas lamparas dentro de la
toma, guarda una gran sincronización y distribución, complementando con los arcos de fondos, lo que hace que se destaque en la composición.

What an amazing place! You are absolutely right its a perfect one to get married. It seems to be so huge and mysterious, so lovely place. Colours create amazing climate. Despite difficult conditions, sharpness of the photo is really great.

Josep, tu as bien fait de profiter d'un mariage pour faire cette belle photo. Les lustres et le plafond sont superbes et les arches font de belles courbes. Les couleurs chaudes vont bien à cette architecture.

I saw a beautiful bride in the WS attached, and must admit you might had posted it as main picture as well, Josep.
A multitude of chandeliers, beautifully placed on image pic. space, and light management was superb.
