Photographer's Note

Benet Rossell is a total and polyhedral artist because, besides being an artist and actor, is a poet, music, film, calligrapher too. Despite starting his studying in the field of law and economics, early interests lean toward the artistic activity.

In 1964 moved to Paris, where lives for a few years and from there made many journeys to other countries such as India and Nepal. In Paris Rossell is always with the camera in tow, exploring all fields. Makes experimental films, documented performances with members of a workshop masks, made the film Cerimonials with Miralda in 1974. He signs on cinema course of the Ethnographic Film Committee led by Jean Rouch and works with the University of Nations Thatre.

The Museum of Contemporary Art in Barcelona (MACBA), dedicates a show to the Catalan artist, with the title Paral-lel Benet Rossell, which focuses on only part of his work, the two mail fields: cinema and calligraphy or micrographs...
