La Torre Calatrava fue construida como pieza simbólica junto al resto de la anilla olímpica, en la montaña de Montjuïc. Junto a la torre de comunicaciones de Collserola de Norman Foster, conforman el sistema de comunicaciones de la ciudad de Barcelona y su área metropolitana.

Barcelona vivió una explosión de arquitectura y renovación urbanística con motivo de los Juegos Olímpicos del 1992, y un ejemplo de ello es la torre de telecomunicaciones que Santiago Calatrava construyó, en plena anilla olímpica, para dicho evento. Esta torre fué un encargo de la compañía de telecomunicaciones nacional por aquel entonces, Telefónica de España S.A, para dar covertura a todo el mundo, de los Juegos Olímpicos celebrados en la ciudad condal.

Calatrava Tower was built as a symbolic piece together the rest of the Olympic ring, in the mountain of Montjuic. Along with the communications tower Collserola by Norman Foster, make up the communications system of the city of Barcelona and its metropolitan area.

Barcelona experienced an explosion of architecture and urban renewal during the Olympic Games of 1992, and an example is the telecommunications tower built to Santiago Calatrava, in full Olympic ring, for that event. This tower was commissioned by the national telecommunications company by then, Telefonica SA of Spain, to give coverage to the entire world, the Olympic Games held in the city.

ottimo close up che mette in risalto sia un piacevole grafismo dato dal mosaico di rivestimento e anche delle geometrie, in particolare mi piace la doppia diagonale della struttura in cemento che forma quasi un triangolo.

recuerdo perfectamente este momento, en el que andábamos los dos buscando encuadres imposibles, intentando captar la bonita geometría de la obra de Calatrava.
Aquí conseguiste lo que querías, una buena foto en un encuadre cerrado, que juega con el grafismo de líneas y curvas de este interesante diseño arquitectónico para una torre de comunicaciones.
Bonito trabajo, y bonitos recuerdos.

Hola Charo,
buen encuadre del plano cerrado de la base de la torre de Calatrava en la anilla olímpica.
Destaca el trabajo en "trencadís" que Calatrava suele usar como usaba Gaudí.
Lástima que el tiempo no te acompañó y el cielo estaba gris.

Interesting composition which exploits well the architecture detail of this tower. Even if I don't like modern architecture here I appreciate the graphic pattern created by those lines and curves.

Barcelone, est une ville que je connais mieux grâce à toi, sans y être jamais allé! et pourtant relativement proche de Montpellier. Joli détail très particulier de l'architecture. Une image graphique et artistique, nette et lumineuse. Bravo.

A very nice detail of Calatrava tower. This photo has an architectural contrast (curves and straight lines, smooth blaster surface and mosaique, prevailing white color with green).
Sandiago Calatrava left some of his projects in Olympic Games of Athens city (2004) too.
