Photographer's Note

Antoni Gaudi was a genial Spanish architect (1852-1926). Most of his works are located in Barcelona, seven of them are have been recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Casa Botines is one of a few buildings by Antoni Gaudi located outside of Barcelona. It was built 1892-1893 in Modernism style with numerous neo-Gothic details. It was designed as a new Leonese headquarters of the textile industry. Today the building is the headquarters of a local savings bank.

The photo was taken from remnants of ancient city walls (built in the 1st century BC) in Leon.
