‘Toledo – Cathedral and rooftops’

View over the rooftops towards the cathedral of Toledo, one of the greatest Gothic structures in Spain.
From a higher vintage point (like the roof terrace of a hotel) it’s easier to appreciate the scale of the cathedral.
Up close, in the surrounding streets or on the small square in front of it this is very difficult.

Toledo Cathedral stands on the site of the Great Mosque of Toledo, which itself had replaced a Visigothic church.
Built from 1226 to 1493, the long process is reflected in Toledo Cathedral's variety of styles.
