Photographer's Note

Consuegra in the plains of La Mancha is famous for its windmills and its castle.

La Mancha is an arid but fertile plateau that stretches from the mountains of Toledo to the western spurs of the hills of Cuenca.

Miguel de Cervantes described the region and its windmills in his two-part 1605/1615 novel Don Quixote de La Mancha. The area is a must-visit for fans of Don Quichote and quintessential Spanishness.
