Photographer's Note

The Guayadeque valley (Barranco de Guayadeque) located in the northern center of the island of Gran Canaria is one of the most beautiful and lush valleys of the island, on its slopes grow 80 species of endemic plants of the island.
In prehistoric times this valley was the most populated island, lying there important necropolis in caves. The Guanches - the ancient inhabitants of the island - used them as dwellings, warehouses and place for celebration of fertility rites.
