Photographer's Note
No, it is not my cat.
This picture was taken on the spanish island Mallorca. It is very crowed with tourists during the summer and quite abandoned in winter.Tourists leave hotels, beaches and animals.
We found a group of hungry cats near a lighthouse.
we came a couple of days later to feed them and met two ladies from German Animal Protection Organization who catch these mallorqian cats to bring them to veterinarians for sterilization - keeping the population from growing too fast.
They are returned to the same place on the same day in the evening.
This is one of the cats.

That's a most beautiful cat... The story made me a little sad.. this is no way for cats to exist... at lest this one looks good.

Nice shot! I might be tempted to run AutoContrast on it, since it appears a bit dark here. Congratulations on proving a cat shot can belong on TE :-)

This cat is wonderful and I like how he looks agressive with his blue eyes. Well done!

Wonderful! This is a beauty... those cold blue eyes and perfect pattern on the fur. This is the best picture of a domestic cat I have ever seen. Great shot!

Beautiful gaze and stunning eyes. It looks like some hypnotism symbol. This is more an extraordinary glance than just another cat. The hungry cat cruelty appearing here finds an explanation with your interesting story. Superb image, where the well controlled DOF adds some mystery to this animal.

As a lover of felines, this is a great shot. The close-crop works well here, and the focus is perrrrrfect! lol
My only concerns about the photo was that it was fairly dark. Have a look at the workshop...

Have the same concern as fotofreak - dark and gray. I also did a WS. I am also a cat lover (and was a cat practitioneer in one of my adult incarnations).

This is a nice cat-pic. And this is a pure violation of the rules. Scandalous! I have finally read the comments. Nothing special, this is a portraiat of a cat and does not matter when and how the picture was taken - there's nothing but a cat here, stop me if I am wrong. I BANG THE VIOLATION BUTTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very pretty cat and great shot.
It seems he thought about his lost babies. You should have asked those ladies if they liked somebody do the same with them?!
Anyway the DOF and framing are excellent. could you please tell me the f-stop and the focal lenght?
