I told you about my beach holidays on Majorca and so far I just showed two photos of a beach. It seems I spent more time sightseeing than sunbathing! One of the best beaches I have seen on Majorca was Cala Mesquida (in this photo) which is located in the north east part of the island in the Cala Ratjada area.

Guidebooks mention that Cala Ratjada and surroundings are like Little Bavaria. Indeed, we didn’t hear there any other language than German. It is a bit ironic. I spent seven years in Germany and I remember some comments addressed to foreigners, saying “if you are in Germany you should speak German”. I didn’t mind because I speak German, but it was not easy for other scientists. But the tourists there didn’t bother trying to speak Spanish. Few of them stopped us on the street and started to speak German straight away. Never mind that, I always wanted to learn foreign languages anyway.

Cala Mesquida was one of the most amazing beaches I have seen on the island. In fact, it may be the best beach for families with children on Majorca. The sand was really clean and fine and water clean and shallow. The whole setting amazing. BUT the wind was very strong with huge waves approaching, so they raised the red flag prohibiting the entry to the sea. Ironic again because formally it is declared a blue flag beach. Later on, I read in a guidebook that this beach is known for strong winds all year round...

Hello Mariusz,
A great view of the beach and the sea with the cliffs and hills as a wonderful backdrop. The people add a nice pattern to the beach. The composition is very good and well-balanced and the fine sunlight resulted in pleasant, natural colours.

Hello Mariusz,

I usually spend more time sightseeing too with a quick 10 minute dip if it's a hot day. Australians are acutely aware of sunburn and skin cancer, so sunbaking is not an option. Good high pov overlooking this gorgeous beach. Tfs!

the color of the sea is fantastic and the little beach is inviting us to it. nice details. I went to a cala (a small rocky bay) with my friends, but wasn't able to swim in those deep waters and stay in the stones very angry.

Ladne kompozycyjnie zdjecie. Plaze moze nie sa moim punktem zainteresowania ale tu trzeba przyznac ze niesamowity kolor wody i otoczenie a takze piaszczysta plaza robia wrazenie. Pewnie w rzeczywistosci bylo podobnie albo jeszcze lepiej ;)

que de belle vague déferlent sur cette plage le cadrage latéral les met parfaitement en valeur dans ce bleu et blanc et quelle plage avec toutes ces personnes sur le sable ces lignées de parasol fantastique composition

Summer action-on-the-beach picture, nicely shown from a higher spot, Mariusz.
Looking at the people on the sand, they look as not so keen to go into the water... a rough waves pounding the sand. Colors of the chairs and parasols gave extra vivid tones to the sand and green bushes.

Mariusz, the hills encircling the beach are covered with a dry vegetation typical of arid climate. They represent a perfect lookout. The big waves are not suitable for bathing. I note all the tourists stayed on the sand. Excellent global view. Fine colors, good image quality, enthralling photo note, regards.

I have to admit, i have a VERY hard time with languages. I could barely pass French in school growing up, I passed with a D- grade. For some people I guess it comes much easier, and in Europe, I think kids are taught from an early age many, several languages. Its common for Europeans to speak at least 3 if not 4. Not so much here in North America. And contrary to popular belief, French is really only spoken in 2 of our 12 provinces, its not Canada-wide. In fact, you'd be better off if you could speak Cantanese or Punjabi in most Canadian provinces than french - i assure you of that. Anyways, this is one of your best beach shots, its so pulled back, allowing us to see so much. Everything on the beach looks so organized haha. love the water and crests of white coming in. nice shot

Beautiful this small beach, with wooded areas at its ends, that gives it a lot of charm, the sea does not allow bathing but it is very beautiful with the foam of its waves.
I have little time now for TE, with the preparation and moving to my new house.
Very good color that highlights the image.
Magnificent management of brightness and sharpness, to enjoy with the details.

fantastic photo of this beach in Majorca. I never went in Spain and I didn't know you have so paradisiacal beaches like that. It remember me some beaches in the south of Rio de Janeiro State as the Farol beach you can see in my theme (Arraial do Cabo).

It looks a great place for vacation and relax.

A wiec okazuje sie, ze ty tez, nawet z rodzina, nie spedziles tak znowu duzo czasu na plazy... ;-)
A tak na serio, rzeczywiscie widac tu, jaka jest piekna. Otoczona dzikimi (a przynajmniej ma sie takie wrazenie) wydmami, a kolory piasku, morza i nieba, zlapane w idealnych proporcjach, tworza harmonijna calosc.
W Angli nie raz slyszalam, ze powinnismy w tym kraju mowic po angielsku, nawet miedzy soba, w przeciwnym razie Anglicy moga pomyslec, ze rozmwiamy o nich (na co ja zwykle odpowiadam, ze tak wlasnie jest, wiec prosze nie przerywac).
Niemcow w gorach Majorki tez jest duzo, ale widac nie az tak, bo rozmowy zaczynaja... wprawdzie tez nie po hiszpansku, lecz po angielsku. :-)
