Photographer's Note

What a Cathedral this is! Wow, probably one of the most beautiful I've visited.

The Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar is a Roman Cathlic Church in Zaragoza. It's impossible to miss. This current church construction began in 1681. It wasn't until 1872 that it was pretty much completed in the style we see today, with many additions along the way.

As for the photo, I know there are many TE members who do not like the distortion and lean of the towers. But seriously, have you seen this church in person? its HUGE, the biggest church i have EVER seen in person. To fit the church 'appropriately' in the frame without distortion, you'd have to be several blocks away, across the river. So the only way to show the entire church is to show it with distortion, unless you show the church piece by piece.

I used my 8mm lens, and even then it was hard to fit it in the frame. I have another photo where it fit a little better, but in this version I really like the bicycles in the lower fg :)

It's not well advertised and not well known, but there IS a tower you can go up. I almost missed it, I had to ask around. I'll show the views in my next post.

The light was bright, the sun was shining on the exterior, it was perfect for photos. Hope you like it.
