Photographer's Note

This is and image of San Cosme and San Damián sanctuary. The sanctuary has traditionally been a center of pilgrimage from the most remote past; Consecrated to health-loving pagan deities, was eventually Christianized and entrusted to Cosme and Damian, patron saints of medicine. It is possible that the relics of the saints were brought from France, over time they achieved great fame, to the point that on September 27, 1396 was founded in Huesca a brotherhood that, under his invocation, was sponsored by King Martin.
