Photographer's Note
As promised I return to Cordoba Cathedral for some more pictures, this time of the interior.
The Mosque–Cathedral of Córdoba, also known as the Great Mosque of Córdoba and the Mezquita, whose ecclesiastical name is the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption is the Catholic cathedral of the Diocese of Córdoba dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The structure is regarded as one of the most accomplished monuments of Moorish architecture.
The building is most notable for its arcaded hypostyle hall, with 856 columns of jasper, onyx, marble, and granite. These were made from pieces of the Roman temple which had occupied the site previously, as well as other destroyed Roman buildings, such as the Mérida amphitheatre.
The double arches were a new introduction to architecture, permitting higher ceilings than would otherwise be possible with relatively low columns. The double arches consist of a lower horseshoe arch and an upper semi-circular arch.
The famous alternating red and white voussoirs of the arches were inspired by those in the Dome of the Rock. and also resemble those of the Aachen Cathedral, which was built almost at the same time. Horseshoe arches were known in the Iberian Peninsula since late Antiquity, as can be seen on the 3rd-century "Estela de los Flavios", now in the archaeological museum of León. A centrally located honey-combed dome has blue tiles decorated with stars.

Hello Stephen,
And finally the interior of Mezquita. No picture can transmit the impression we have being there. Original composition with the two rows of arches, we see that on the sides there are more of them. Interesting wooden ceiling.

Hello Stephen,
I am amazed at the sense of depth and perspective that you have been able to achieve in this shot!
The building looks superb, with its huge, brick-decorated arches and marble pillars! It seems to dwarf this large crowd of visitors!
This is an excellent interior shot both for light and details.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hi Stephen,
The length of the alley is giving depth to the composition. The presence of the crowd is animating the scene. The point of view is showing the details of the arches and of the ceiling. Have a nice day.

Bonjour Stephen,
On ne peut pas passer par Cordoba sans profiter des beautés de cette cathédrale. Mais comme on est pas tout seul à le faire, on s'arrange pour en profiter. Superbe gestion de la lumière.

Hello Stephen,
Soaring arches forming repeating patterns, the corridor generating leading lines and the warm colors surrounding the crowds all make for a beautiful photo.

Hi Stephen
A warm capture of the architectural beauty from a straight on angle with sense of depth & perspective afforded by the receding columns and arches. I like the way how the people strengthen the composition, being part of the shot. Nice lens work, Congrats

Hello Stephen,
I appreciate that there are some people animating the scene. It would have been even better if they had been priests and nuns, but what can you expect from such a famous place attracting visitors from all over the world? The main point after all is the fantastic architecture, so elegant but yet so modest. The depth is good and the light is well handled.
Kind regards,
Gert

The repeating pattern of arches and pillars inside the great hall of the masquita, whoever visited this place must know that there is no way to include a full width and depth of this magnificent place, Stephen.
Light was very well managed, people enliven the outcome of the scene.
My best regards,
Ike
