Photographer's Note
In the land of Kozolec
Kozolec is usually a wooden and sometimes metal structure that is used to keep the hay dry in often wet Slovenia. It is remarkable how Kozolec has remained so endemic, so local to Slovenia, as it is not only beautiful, but also very practical. This two kozolecs are situated on the road between Kranj and Skofja Loka, where there are maybe hundred and maybe more of this things. I choose to go there (not far from my home) and use the blue hour to make this picture. In the image you can see also more modern electricity "kozolecs" as a sign of the modern times. At the bottom you can see that corn is nearly done, a sign that the late summer is comming up.

Hi Aleks,
Finally a picture of not one, but two kozolecs! JY is really going to be pleased... ;o)
It's a good idea to have framed your picture this way as we can enjoy both a close-up and a general view of this typical slovenian agricultural accessory. Despite the low light and the gray clouds, the colours are good, especially this green sea of corn at the bottom.

Bonjour,
C'est sympathique de réussir une photo avec des fils électriques.
Bonne journée.

Hi Aleks. It’s interesting to see a bit of your culture. I usually bemoan power lines but there's something I like about that one. I think it has good lines and I love the contrast between new and old. tfs Aleks.

Zdravo Aleks,
Ah, finally, hvala lepa ! I find these ones apparently very long compared to those near Studor, good idea to use part of the first one to introduce to the image. You might even pick up some power from the line to lighten the kozolec and take the ultimate "Kozolec @ Blue Hour" picture ;-)
Have a nice day,

Hi Aleks,
A lovely agriculture environment in the nature, a pity for the modern times, through electric lines about the lovely fields! But this line gives a nice depth and perspective at your picture.
Thanks for sharing.
Have a nice week,
John

Hello Aleks,
An everyday scenery for the farmers working this land...
Interesting to see how you make the electricity cables an element in your compoistion, normally they are only an annoyance for photographers..!
Good lines in your composition, and I like your framing!

I´ve seen this strange structures so unique and typical for Slovenia when going to the Karavanke in Austrian border. This image will be better when also showing Alps in the background, but that´s only my POV
Have a nice day Aleks

Bonjour Aleksandar,

Bravo.

I agree with several of your critiques: Birette, "It's a good idea to have framed your picture this way as we can enjoy both a close-up and a general view," and "The colours are good, especially this green sea of corn at the bottom."
Pablo, "Interesting to see how you make the electricity cables an element in your compoistion," and Steve, "I usually bemoan power lines but there's something I like about that one. I think it has good lines and I love the contrast between new and old."

Hi Aleks
Interesting perspective and I like the way you have used the electricity cables as a lead into the scene. Interesting structures too, as I don't know a thing about Kozolec. Nice note and a good bit of education for me today. Great work.
