Photographer's Note

A view from Mt. Mangart flats toward East. Mt. Jalovec, probably the most beautiful mountain in Slovenian Julian Alps, stands high over Trenta valley. However, this is not its most famous side to view. Its magnificent clean pyramid viewed from north side stands even more majestic above Tamar valley. The Julian Alps are famous on their mountain flowers. As one of the most southern groups of the Alps they display a rich mixture of southern plants with glacial relicts and northern brand of flowers. The flowers in foreground are Rhododendron hirsutum - Hairy Alpenrose.

Scanned by Nikon CoolScan IV-ED. Cropped, the sky darkened a bit using Curves (magic Wand mask tool). Sharpened (except the sky) using Unsharp Mask tool 63% level, 1 pix radius. JPEG level 41% (Corel PhotoPaint notation).
