Soft Cloud, a photo from Notranjska, West

Photographer's Note

I let the pic just like i shoted them. Any correction could damage the scene that already is not so beautiful as I have seen it in alive. Behind the cloud it was the sun, that makes the rainbow on the edges of the cloud. The thin and large tracks behind cloud are the traces of the jets. On one of the many pics I have used the polarizer too, but the pic are not been so real like this one.

It was thursday 6.november. After almost 1 month it was the first day with really clear atmosphere. Near the see where I livin it was beautiful weather without clouds with the semi strong nord wind. But the weather report was not been gradient for all of the day, so I have left the job after two hours and I had gone to take my cameras. I have left the town and I was set out against the hills over the city. But on the hills it had not been so clear, very soon I was assisted to a very strange nature phenomenons. It was begun to be very cold and dark, the clouds begun to accumulates above me. I have stopped the car near Postojna caves and I have exited to see what happens. Immediately I take all my two cameras and I begun to shoted the pics. The weather was changing every second, that I did not have time neather to fix the cameras. I was shoted more than 30 pics, after the sky it was been completely covered with all kind off clouds. After that the trip was ended so I returned back to home. To the evening I heared that began to fall the snow in almost all of the Slovenia. It seems that these clouds have been announcer for the snow.

this is great. I try to get good cloud shots every few days and always pop my head out the window around sunset to see what its like. I think you got a good shot. the sun behind the clouds gives it a nice electric feel around the edges. IF i was to editi this any I think I might jsut adjust the color balance or levels a bit to pull out more blue in the sky and black the hills a bit more since they are already almost 99% black. Use of curves on the lum chan might give you someinteresting results. but as is I like it allot .

Wow ! Marvellous shot on cloud and sky....looked so unreal. Just add a little imagination, the shape of the cloud looks like a head of an animal !

Where does this impressive cloud come from??? Great composition. You've got the eye... Impossible to miss such a scene. I've never seen this before. Really well done, congratulations.

Strange phenomena. The winds must be going in different directions in different layers of the atmosphere here.

Very well done, the cloud surely has this form because of the wind and the photograph is interesting with the mountain in bottom, framing is good.

I almost fell off my chair. Incredible moment in time here - as the sky is never the same. There must have been a struggle between warm and cold fronts. What is wonderful, is the immensity of our climate, so well captured. Well done.

I agree, if you do too much to the image, you could spoil it. The way it is, the full softness of the clouds stands out. Just right.
