Photographer's Note
While in Bled, I would get up at 6 am every day and walk for 20 minutes to my favourite viewpoint by the lake. I considered myself lucky - in the summer sun rises much earlier than that! :)
I chose this title because that's how Will (willperrett) has recently referred to my habit of getting up early to get the morning shots. :)
In WS another photo taken that morning. It's a slightly more beautiful photo with more yellow highlights. I chose this one as the main upload because I think this wider and darker view conveys the feeling of solitude. I like to look at it and recall those five mornings in Bled when I was standing in that particular spot by the lake completely on my own.

Hi Kasia
Is like being inside a snow globe looking at your picture and I completely feel that sense of isolation you mention in your note. This image make me feel that it's the end of a long arduous journey and just through the last mile of snow is the welcome view of home. A very beautiful picture
Best wishes

Hello Kasia,
The only thing that could make me get out of bed at 6 would be if I had to catch a plane to a warmer place. But your strange habit allows you to take some fine photos, I admit that. This one certainly conveys that atmosphere of loneliness and silence that you wanted. The snow falling in the lingering darkness is absolutely beautiful, but again you have chosen the less immediately charming photo for the main upload. It honours you that you are not desperately looking for as many points as possible, but I hope this will receive the attention it deserves.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Kasia,
with tones of blue and falling snow photographs don`t get ny more atmospheric than this,I can almost feel the chill air.
Whilst the WS will probably be most admired, the main image is the one that will remain longest in my mind for the mood that it creates.
Best wishes Les.

Hello Kasia
Thanks for the title! As ever, I think your choice between the two images was the right one: the darker shot with the island more distant has a stronger impact. I'm surprised the snowflakes are as defined as they are with a 3 sec exposure. After a second look I've also decided that placing the island in the centre of the frame, and having the horizon line slap across the middle also works: kind of Zen Feng Shui idea that fits with your standing by the lake on your own contemplating the world through your lens.
Kind regards
Will

Hello Kasia, a shot so full of atmosphere.I can understand why you selected this one to help with recollections of your trip.
My eyes look between the snowflakes and the distant island, moving from one to the other again and again.
You sound as if you had a wonderful time.
Thank you for the alternative shot in the workshop.
Regards Jean.

Witaj Kasiu, W zimie oglądać wschód słońca to nie takie wyzwanie, jeśli chodzi o godzinę. Z kolei trudniej wstać z cieołego łóżeczka do zimnicy dokoła. Kiedy byłam nad Bajkałem też chodziłam przed wschodem słońca do ulubionej skały Szamanki. Romantycznie to wygląda z tymi śnieżynkami.
Pozdraiwam MAłgorzata

Les deux versions me plaisent. Chacune a son atmosphère particulière. Le petit coup de flash a figé les flocons de belle façon.

Hello Kasia
an ambitious and decidedly original shot from this beauty of a place. A different type of blue hour shot this and one that is both intriguing and creative.
Magical!
Have a good week - B.

Cześć Kasia! W pierwszej chwili pomyślałem, że to San Giorgio Maggiore w Wenecji, ale nie, Słowenia, jezioro Bled. Piękna fotografia. Rzadkiej urody zdjęcie. Pozdrawiam!

Hello Kasia,
I just added it to my favourites. The use of flash to make the snowfall visible, making a second layer to the image was a brilliant idea. The result is a stunning picture. The centred composition also works great.

Zdravo Kasiu. I find this photo somewhat overwhelming, with no hint of a change in condition- everlasting snow and desolation. I prefer the lovely workshop in which light adds hope, especially as the twinkling light in the distance promise human contact. Pozdrav. Klaudio.

Hello Kasia
It really paid off to get up early. This is lovely shot with a very nice mood. The use of fill flash enhances the effect of the snow flakes. Very nice indeed! TFS.
Enjoy your WE.

Hello Kasia
I was wondering why you posted this version rather than the WS...this was before I read your note :-)
This is sombre, even if I may say melancholic...with a feeling of chill as well with the prominent snow flakes.
Picture wise I prefer the WS post, but I agree for this as a more moody version...and thanks also to your habit of waking early to share with us these scenes.
Yes and one more thing...your use of flash to make the snow flakes so visible was a great idea!
My respects!
Best Regards
Angshu

Hi Kasia,
I remember other photos of this place that you posted before. The snow flakes make this one so magical. You managed to get a very good result here. The exposure, the colours and the composition are just great, I really like it.

Hi Kasia,
Excellent result with the flash and all these snow flakes, well managed with this blue night and the tower in the BG.

Hello Kasia,
Two beautiful pictures and as you suggest each conveys a slightly different mood. The curtain of snow gives a mysterious and lovely interpretation of this famous place. Original and excellent.

Dear Kasia
Your insomnia has really paid off here. You've caught an amazing, original and very beautiful photo because of it. I love the blue tones and the amazing effect of the snow/sleet/rain. The slight reflection is very subtle and a lovely touch too. Excellent work, I like this a lot.
Warmest wishes
