Photographer's Note

After three rather "heavy" uploads accompanied with my musings about death, war, injustice and perished Aral Sea, I decided, just before my next flight (to Burma) to post a "normal" landscape photo from my last trip to Slovakia in October.

Strbske Tarn is one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) tourist magnets in Slovakian High Tatras, accessible by car and train. I was disappointed to find that the best view (with the mountains in the background) was spoiled by a large modern hotel and an ugly structure that has something to do with skiing.

However, just like with many other overcrowded attractions, once the tourists have retreated to restaurants and bars and the souvenir sellers have packed their merchandise, you can have the place to yourself.

And a bonus - some of the hotels are quite photogenic, especially at blue hour.
