Photographer's Note

The oak tree was 23 meters high, with large branches and a tree diameter of over 3.5 meters and a crown circumference of 9 meters. The oak began to decline, which folk tradition linked to the collapse of the Obrenović dynasty. The largest branch broke off in 1860, announcing the death of Prince Miloš, the smaller one in 1868, when Prince Mihailo was killed, and in 1901, a storm uprooted the tree, announcing the imminent collapse of the dynasty.

The remains of this first bush are kept in the Museum of the Second Serbian Uprising, in the Church of the Holy Trinity in Gornji Milanovac and at the Faculty of Forestry in Belgrade.
