Kruske pocetkom Septembra.

Pogled preko ograde, na drvo kruske u komsijinom dvoristu.

Kruska (Pyrus) je rod drvenastih biljaka iz familije Rosaceae, ciji se istoimeni plodovi koriste u ishrani ljudi. Vrste ovog roda rastu u umerenim predelima Evrope, Azije i Afrike. Drvece je srednje visine (10-17m), uglavnom listopadno, sa prostim i naizmenicno rasporedjenim listovima (duzine 2–12 cm). Plod je specijalan oblik bobice — pomum, sa jednoslojnim ili viseslojnim epidermisom i cesto brojnim sklereidima.

U srpskom narodnom predanju kruska je smatrana za „zlo drvo“ i drvo zlih demona. Prema verovanju ispod starih krusaka se skupljaju djavoli, demoni i vestice. Takodje se verovalo da na krusku pada ala koja satire grozdje po vinogradima kao i da se na njoj moze naci i smrt.

Od krusaka se pravi i vrlo kvalitetna rakija - kruska (kruskovaca), a najpoznatija kruskova rakija je od sorte viljamovke.
Osim za rakiju, kruske se koriste i za pripremu kompota, dzemova, pekmeza, slatka, kao i dodatak za razne vocne kolace i torte.

Pear (Pyrus) is a genus of woody plants from the family Rosaceae, whose fruits of the same name are used in human nutrition. Species of this genus grow in temperate regions of Europe, Asia and Africa. The trees are of medium height (10-17 m), mostly deciduous, with simple and alternately arranged leaves (2–12 cm long). The fruit is a special form of berry - pomum, with a single-layer or multi-layer epidermis and often numerous scleroids.

In Serbian folklore, the pear was considered an "evil tree" and a tree of evil demons. It is believed that devils, demons and witches gather under old pears. It was also believed that ala fell on the pear, destroying the grapes in the vineyards, and that death could be found on it.
Pears are also used to make very high-quality brandy - pear (kruskovaca), and the most famous pear brandy is made from the viljamovka variety.
In addition to brandy, pears are also used to prepare compotes, jams, marmalades, sweets, as well as an addition to various fruit cakes and pies.

Hi Paja
A good photo of the pear tree and fruit. They appear to have quite rough and bumpy skins but I'm sure they taste OK. Interesting note.

Hello Pavle,
I think you're a bit late ... taking picture of this pear tree. Your neighbours have left three pears on the tree :-)
I see that they're already ripen and juicy as I'm sure these pears will attract a lot birds of small animals feasting the fruits.
Ha!ha!ha! I didn't know that the old pear is considered an 'evil tree'. I guess that these '3 old pears' will be plucked very soon for making sweet delicacies or brandy.
Now that's sound very interesting 'Brandy'. I would really love to taste that ... the famous pear brandy :-)

Izgledaju tako zdravo i ukusno.
Uhvatili ste ih u sjajnom svetlu.
Zanimljiva napomena, mislim da u Poljskoj nemamo tako nešto. Rakija mora biti ukusna ...

A very well framed close up of these pears. I liked your description especially that of it being an evil tree.
In England we also use pears to make something called perry. It is a kind of cider and not too alcoholic, unlike pear brandy!
