No trust, a photo from Cluj, West

Photographer's Note

Continuing my trip in the past:
Not trusting even herself, in the crowd of the market, this old women checked every 10-15 minutes her (clear) handkerchief, where she kept the money. Opened the knots, looked, closed them, and put it back in a pocket under her dress.

Negreni - a village on the half way between Oradea and Cluj, in the West Carpathian Mountains. Where the valley of the river named Crisul Repede becames a bit larger, was place enough near/among the river to keep market.
I don't know if the tradition is continued till now, but there was once in a year a marketplace, three days long.
People - most from the surrounding villages, but also from over 100km - came with traditional products, most of them homemade. Also food, cereals, animals.

interesting picture, I am not sure whether the scene is funny or sad, but it is interesting... funny that she checks her money every 10minutes, sad that there is probably a reason for that... anyway, I like the way you composed the picture, with the women on the side and a lot of trees in the background. upper parts of the trees are bit overexposed, and the picture seems to be a bit too gray, some more contrast maybe would help..

Very very good shot, Janos, and a funny story. I like the low point of view and the guy with the hat behind. Her expression is enigmatic - happy? worried?.

The old b/w photo lost some contrast, you may add some contrast an d improve it, but still, a very nich shot.

This is really a great capture and very, very good notes too. Technically, I think your composition is very nice here, although things might be just a little soft. I like the toning a lot as well.

very well seen ,you could captuer her mood .
I think this pic is littel yellow,I do auto color in PS and it get better ,but I'm out of WS now!

IMHO your lens is to be blamed for slight foggines of the picture. I don't think that you can cure it by simple contrast enhancement. This original is much better than your WS IMHO. So I wouldn't touch this pic (maybe cropped a little from top - overexposed sky).
Softness and sepia toning give this shot old-fashioned look.
Great.

BTW, FED II is not an SLR. How did you attached tele-lens to it? Did you re-adjust viewfinder?

PS. There's a second story behind this shot. She does not trust herself, but she also does not trust that suspicious guy in leather jacket :)

Wow Janos what a great picture. I love the expression of this women. The picture is mabey a little bit to soft. Mabey alittle bit more contrast. But this one is great. Well seen!
