Photographer's Note

Waiting at the station for the right train.
We were trying to talk for a while but it was the beginning of my travel in Romania and I just have learnt few words in Romanian (English-Romanian dictionary was helpful). What I like about people in Romania is that they are eager to communicate with foreigners according to the rule; if you want to talk with somebody you will find a common language of communication. Travelling in Romania with my friend I was using Italian, Russian, English, German (she was speaking also French)depends on the region and of course Romanian (a little bit). Once our host lady has a daughter who married Italian man and therefore she was able to understand Italian. Another time we were staying at the house, were daughter was married with a French man. In Transilvania you can meet people speaking German. I like the diversity of regions in Romania. Travelling in Maramuresh and visiting small villages was a great experience. Old people were very nice and open, they invited us to their houses. They usually did not speak any foreign languages but it was not obstacle for them since they wanted (we also) to have a chat. It was at the end of our travel so we could speak a little more of Romanian with the great help of mini conversation book.
