Viscri blue, a photo from Brasov, East

Photographer's Note

Viscri is also known due to the great job in restoring done by the Mihai Eminescu Trust, the foundation patroned by The Prince of Wales. What is less known is that the work and the efforts of the foundation covers not only Viscri, but many other Saxon villages in Transylvania (Crit, Mesendorf, Malancrav, Saschiz).

The village is located in the center of Romania, close to Sighisoara (40km). You have to quit the main road (DN13/E60) in Bunesti, and then a paved road will bring you here (8km).

I remember Viscri with great pleasure from 2010. Maybe I saw this building, but maybe it has been so carefully restored since then that I wouldn't have recognized it. The blue wall under the blue sky makes a great impression, and the dark blue decorations on the lighter blue wall are really beautiful. The good exposure certainly benefits the photo.

Viscri is one of the places in Romania I have visited. I remember many beautiful farmhouses and of course the fortified church.
Here you show us some very nice details of one of the houses.
Simple yet artistic.
Both shades of blue go well with the third kind of blue in the sky.

Hello Daniel,

Your picture is made stronger by the similarity in colours between the wall and the sky. It's almost as if intended! The edges of the roof act like separation lines between the different textures of the same colours.
A great piece of art!

What a quaint old building, lots of very eye-pleasing blue here along with that matching colours - indeed very nicely colour-coordinated. Definitely worth a shot, a real rhapsody in blue with some super depictions of the theme. You have great eye for seeing opportunities that many would have overlooked. Excellent shot
