Another view of Union Square (Piața Unirii) in Timisoara, looking towards St George Roman Catholic Cathedral dating from 1774 AD. The Cathedral is one of the best Baroque style of churches in the Banat, an area encompassing western Romania, north eastern Serbia, & south eastern Hungary.

A neat picture of the square in front of the church, Chris.
The clouds, lamp-posts and flowers-pot animate the scene which by itself the POV was superbly premeditated.
Found the place on Google-Map at 45.758, 21.229 where the beautiful column stand, than took a virtual tour around.

Hello Chris,
A well composed photo with excellent, well saturated colours and fine contrasts. The lampposts frame the view of the cathedral perfectly and the city gardener placed the red flowers well. The three large squares of central Timisoara made quite an impression on me.

Hello Chris,

This needs to be seen in New Tab so that all the scene can be viewed at one time and the details are still pin sharp.

For me, this photograph reveals the skill of composition. The lampposts give immediate f/g interest, create a fine sense of perspective and frame the Catholic Cathedral. You can ask for nothing more!
Well, okay, the details and colours are excellent!

Hello Chris, a colourful shot, and enhanced by the sunny day.
The cathedral reminds me of some of the churches that we have seen on TE from South America.
I like the composition where you have used the street lights to frame our view of the cathedral.

Great shot of this square, the colours are so appealing and well-saturated. The yellow church is well placed right in between the two lampposts. Those small white clouds in the blue sky are really charming also.

Besides the church we find several other beautiful buildings on the square. And colours seem to be important here.
You've searched well for the best point of view. Very attractive with the lampposts framing the church and the flowers in the foreground.

Hello Chris, I haven't visited Timisoara. But I have been in other Romanian cities and I can tell that they like yellow colour. Fantastic composition. The diagonal line created by the lamps and church towers, interesting column, nice flowers in a pot. beautiful light and colours.

Superb composition with a very well chosen POV, the church is very interesting, together with the plague column, the street lamps adorn the square very well, in which we can see part of its interesting buildings. I did not visit this city on my trip to Romania but it seems very interesting.

Hello Chris,

at first saw of the church I thought it was in Tiradentes city in Brazil where the baroque style is very common as well the streets with stones like that in forground. A beautiful capture with rich details and colors. I likethe lightpoles in forground. I would like to seat in the restaurant that that seems to exist there in the umbrellas on the left.
