Photographer's Note

A close up shot of the exquisite tiled mosaic on the wall of St George's 'new' church in Bucharest. The church dates from 1707 AD and survived the Soviet occupation of Romania. Many did not survive.

The church is notable for the elaborate tomb of prince Constantin Brâncoveanu of Wallachia, who was tortured and murdered by the Ottomans in Istanbul in 1714.
