Photographer's Note

It was freezing today in Timisoara: -12 degrees and the light was awfull! But it was my only free afternoon here and I had to be brave, dress two coats (I am Portuguese, I don't have clothes for these temperatures), leave the warm hotel room and go for a walk!

This picture was taken in Victory Square: The cathedral was built between 1937 and 1940. It is dedicated to the Three Holy Hierarchs, Saints Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, and John Chrysostom. It has 11 towers, of which the central and the highest has a height of 96 meters.

It was the first Orthodox Church I have ever visited and I am amazed with them. It was a wonderfull cultural experience! Well worth the freezing! :)
