Photographer's Note

I took this photo from Eforie Nord on a cold 1st of May. I was headed towards the Constanta Port container terminal, admiring the large gantry cranes. I then tried to capture the fishermen who were fishing from a breakwater about 2 kilometers south of those cranes.

Constanta Port is the biggest port in Romania. It has a handling capacity of 100,000,000 tonnes per year and 156 berths, of which 140 berths are operational. The total quay length is 29.83 kilometres and the depths range between 8 and 19 meters. These characteristics are comparable with those offered by the most important European and international ports, allowing the accommodation of tankers with a capacity of 165,000 metric tons deadweight and bulkcarriers of 220,000 DWT.
