Photographer's Note
A wintery sunset in the Constanta port private marina. Small size yachts and sailboats, a few fisherman boats on the far shore and a lot of hungry cuddly cats rubbing your feet on this side of the photo, behind the camera.Imagine shooting this in a perfectly calm day, unusually warm for this time of the year,to the sound of the waves and every now and then a meow. Trust me, dock or port cats are totally the same wherever you go. Always looking for fish or better and always cuddly.
The technical bits : first of all, meow. Then ..a compact travel camera with a good zoom is quite common these days. But add requirements such as a decent picture quality and relatively compact size and you are left with a short list. This HX60 is 3 years old now and has been through major servicing once, having the lens and sensor unit completely swapped.Decent camera but wild purple flaring when the Sun enters the frame(6-7 oval spots, not concentric, not beautifully aligned as in older lens) and a very very fragile lens build means I will be looking for replacement soon.
