Photographer's Note

Old city center of Brașov, Romania, also known in the olden times as Corona , Kronstadt or Brassovia. The view shows autumn colors on the Tāmpa (that oddly translates as Stupid Girl) mountain in the center at sundown. The old buildings date from the 1300s and 1400s and are recently renovated. A lot of stores, restaurants and hotels are today built in the old nobility mansions, shops or inns of yonder.
This view shows the center of the Old Town Assembly Square (Piața Sfatului)looking towards the Stupid is..Tāmpa Mountain. At the top you can see the cable car terminus station, a TV relay and a very Hollywood-like sign reading Brașov, today's name of this fine city. You can climb there on foot or using the said cable car (not a very high climb but a very steep one)to find a platform with a view on all the valley (worth it!).That 'girl' may be stupid but surely has her...odd charms (could not help myself, sorry).
The used camera is a recent Sony compact zoom, a so called travel zoom that somehow collapses a long lens (720 mm equivalent)into a body no larger than a slim pack of cigarettes(or an old school mobile phone, if you are not a smoker). Colors are natural in this photo,no special processing was required as the autumn and the low setting sun in a fine day were doing all the work.
