Photographer's Note

Another photo taken at the quarter near 'Portuguese Parliament' which attracted me by it's staircase and the buildings that borders it.
About the most known building near this quarter, the Portuguese Parliament of Palacio de São Bento, it's a necolassical building which holds the the parliament since 1834 date in which the religious orders were splitted.
It was built on the XVIth century as a Benedictine monastery. Thru the centuries XIXth and XXth it was highly modfified at the internal and external part until it got its actual look.
The interior of this building is absolutely amazing, filled with alleys and works of arts from different eras of the Portuguese History.
It's classified as a National Monument since 2002.
More details about the surroundings of this street can be found on the notes of my photo 'Coloured Facades'.
