Photographer's Note

Belém Tower was built in the Age of the Discoveries (when defending the city was of paramont importance) in tribute to the patron saint of the city, Saint Vicente.

Construction began in 1514 under the supervision of the architect Francisco de Arruda and it was completed in 1520. It remained ever since as one of the world's most beautiful examples of military architecture. In 1983 UNESCO classified it as a World Heritage Site.

Exelent picture, I dont have the opportunity to go inside of this place, but I would like to do it some day.

The two arches in this picture and the bridge and ocean in the background makes a exelent picture.

Ola Antonio, na tua ultima critica a minha foto tens razao, mas a minha maquina e fraca e deixa um pouco a desejar , tenho de comprar outra nova, mas e bom ouvir as criticas, espero melhorar nesses pontos, gostei desta tua foto, porque tenho uma tirada tambem na torre de Belem , parabens.
