A View of Pico Island-Azores, a photo from Acores, Islands

Photographer's Note

With this Post a new Return to Azores and this was taken from the surroundings of Horta town at Faial Island capturing the sea Atlantic channel and the PICO Island and the greatest mountain from Portugal, that seems like a little FUGI in Japan.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This picture was taken with contrasting clouds and light different reflections near 15H00 GMT, with the sun rays at my right side.

In my Photo Information YOU have a TRAVELOGUE and also two WS-Workshops that are complementary views of the place and that are also a important way of comunicate and information. So I ask you for a little moment to see also the WS-1 where you can see other particular view of Pico near the same time and weather conditions. The WS-2 capture was from another place a few kilometers of the others views, and one hour before with different sunlight conditions.

These beautiful Islands are located in the vast Atlantic Ocean somewhere half a way between Europe and North America.

These two are part of the five Central Islands, that are visited all the year for several thousand of tourists and sea navigators from all the world. It's like a world navigation network!

PICO Island is known by the PICO Mountain that is very difficult to capture in a clear view because is allways with clouds in the upper top. This Island have very good WINES and excelent CHEESE.

SECOND note: My current Travel Serie would be these particular Atlantic Islands with harmonious mountains, sea scenery, walles and dolphins, cows with milk and derivates for all the world, great wonderfull volcanic sceneries and nature and I will try to catalog in different selective ways to post.

These are natural and preserved nature wonders that have Sailors, Solitaire navigators and important world tourism and preserved Sportiv Game-Fishing with people linked to United States, Canada, Brazil, Europe and also naturally to Continental Portugal.

O Pico (de todas as fotos que conheço) é para mim a ilha mais enigmática, penso que tem uma relação fortíssima com as nuvens, as duas estão sempre entrelaçadas! ;-)

Boa escolha do Pov criando o foreground com a Horta,
Bom balanço na exposição de luz (certamente marcaste a luz no Pico senão criavas a sobre-esposição)
Boa composição e beleza mas esta última, já sabemos, são os Açores

The dark foreground give a very good contrast against the wonderful sky with the lovely clouds. This island in the middle make your picture more lovely.

Linda imagem, a ilha flutua entre o céu e o mar, nesta sutil linha do horizonte. A ilha de Pico tem um formato muito bonito, realmente lembra o monte Fuji neste aspecto. Excelente ponto de vista, cores, DOF e principalmente uma atmosfera mágica.

Eu gostei a uniao do ceu com o horizonte. As cores estao fabulosas. O conjunto de nuvens na parte superior dao a impressao que vao sair da foto. Muito boa perspectiva. E as fotos complementares no WS nao ficam atras.

Hola Fernando.
Excelente fotografia, la captaste muy bien desde un angulo perfecto, muy lindos colores. Dejaste un cielo amplio lo cual es muy buena idea, asi le das mas realce a la isla.
Con la parte anterior de la foto le das una muy buena perspectiva y profundidad.
Las otras dos fotos de tu WS son tambien muy buenas

The sky is a bit a "Carperian" one and goes well with this beaitiful insular landscape.

Hi Fernando, A wonderful capture of the different colors of the mountain ridges, the island, the ocean, and the clouds. It is amazing to see the reflections on the water in a different stripes, I guess that it was caused by the waves. A very well taken picture with clarity and depth.

you gve to us a spendid view of this wonderful place! I like a lot all this blue, and the reflexes of the clouds (and the same clouds) are a plus.
Even if the subject is central, the symmetry is broken from the diagonal dark profile of the hills in the frontside.
Very well and accurately composed, a great result, compliments!

on dirait que ce nuage reste accroché à cette ile.
Excellent POV qui donne énormément d'ampleur à la scène, beaucoup de largeur.
Il y a avait unpeu de brume,c'est dommage car la vue je pense aurait été encore plus séduisante.

You have given this shot a surrealist touch with the island as if floating in the sky with the clouds hovering around it. Dali would have got a lot of inspirations from this. I love the effect of the light passing through the clouds. The dark foreground emphasized the depth and space. Very impressive!! Regards.

Bom dia Fernando,
Há já algum tempo que estou para vir a esta imagem. Já que tenho andado no pico, vou aproveitar. Esta imagem foi uma das que mais me impressionou quado visitei em adolescente os Açores. Visto de quem apanha o barco, a vista do Pico é mesmo impressionante! Gosto muito desta vista com o mar a fundir-se com o céu e as nuvens, como em tantas fotos suas, a ajudarem à beleza e profundidade da composição. Aquelas, estacionadas mesmo por cima do Pico são muito engraçadas. Gosto mesmo muito das duas complementares em ws, especialmente a que realça as nuvens com um "arco" até ao penhasco de cá.
Bom manejo da luminosidade numa fotografia nada fácil de tirar.
Parabéns e mais uma vez obrigado pelas suas visitas.
