Photographer's Note

Besides the decorations, there are little corners in the village that I really like to see. Cabeça is on the mountain and winters are particularly cold here. So far, the temperature has been higher than usually this winter but even so, it gets really cold when the night comes and a fireplace is much appreciated. Here we can see a wheel cart with pieces of wood, near the door of one of the houses and a local cat enjoying the last hours of sunlight because soon the sun will disappear behind the mountains.

Situated in the Estrela Mountain, the highest mountain in Portugal, this village, with less than 200 inhabitants is receiving thousands of visitors this month. The inhabitants decorated their houses and streets for Christmas, but all the decorations are made of materials from the mountain, what makes it the most ecological Christmas in Portugal.
