Photographer's Note

I'm going to stop my posts of India for a while, just to post some photos of the Madeira Island, here in Portugal.
This is the first photo, a little chapel devoted to Nossa Senhora da Piedade, situated in Caniçal, on the eastern part of the Island. It's a magnificent place, according to the legend, the chapel was built by a group of fishermen who once found themselves in danger on the sea. They promised to build a chapel to Our Lady and they built it on the first hill they saw when they arrived - this one. Every year there's an important feast here, in September. The place looked magical when I arrived there, at sunset.
