Photographer's Note

It is an architectural concept commonly called “Casas de Brasileiro”, attributed to houses built by Portuguese who had emigrated to Brazil and returned in the late 19th century.
They were built not only in major cities and towns, but also in small rural settlements such as the house represented here, and had lush and conspicuous architectural breakages, breaking with the values of the time.
Known then as the “Torna Viagem” showed great availability for the novelty, accepting the importation of the international as a differentiating factor and affirmation of their success in returning to their homeland.
